Finally, Globiqo is launched! After spending 8 years to complete a 4 years course
It took me roughly 7–8 years to complete a 4-year course. The journey started when I finished secondary school eight years ago.

I wrote JAMB and scored 195, but I didn’t get admission because I didn’t have anyone to guide me through the process. All my siblings were no longer at home, and for you to gain admission into the university I wanted, you had to select them as your first choice. Unfortunately, the person who helped me with my registration didn’t choose them as my first choice, and it was too late before I realised the mistake.
My friends got admitted, but I didn’t. I refused to let that hold me back. I wrote JAMB again the following year and scored 194. Funny, isn’t it?
This time, I got admitted (2019). Fast forward to 2020, the school went on strike for roughly a year. I felt like time was slipping away while my friends in other universities were moving forward, and I was still in the first semester of my first year.
In 2021, I decided to start university in another country. I completed my first semester there but eventually dropped out because it was difficult to adapt. Very few people spoke English, and I honestly found the environment quite boring.
In 2022, I returned to my first university to continue from where I had stopped. Unfortunately, shortly after I returned, the school went on another 8 month strike. At that point, I honestly felt like everything was happening because of me.
Later that year, in Fall 2022, I left again to study in the University of Plymouth International College (UPIC) UK. Ironically, not long after I left, my former university resumed fully. That’s when I started jokingly thinking that maybe I was the problem or maybe God simply had a greater plan for me.
Things were going well, although life was challenging as an international student. Working only 20 hours per week while trying to pay tuition fees and cover other living expenses wasn’t easy. I was able to complete my Diploma.
Then came 2023.
Mr. Tinubu, became President, and the exchange rate skyrocketed. The tuition fee I had been paying was about ₦8 million per year and it rose to ₦16 million, and by June or July, it had increased to over ₦30 million. On top of that, the university also increased its tuition fees. House rent, food, clothing, and transportation, everything became more expensive.
I returned to Nigeria and started studying at a private university that is a faith based. I prayed to God and told Him that I had to finish my education there.
Fast forward to my final year. An unexpected situation happened. My Apple Watch had run out of battery, and I forgot to remove it from my wrist before entering the examination hall. A lecturer noticed it and asked why I was wearing it. He requested to inspect it, and I handed it over immediately without any hesitation because I knew the watch was dead and posed no issue.
After the examination, however, the lecturer handed me a malpractice form, which I refused to fill out.
The following semester, that incident became something I had to deal with throughout the entire semester. It was serious enough that it could have led to my suspension.
I prayed to God and met with different lecturers, but every one of them said they couldn’t help because the matter had gone too far. Nobody wanted to get involved. My mom even came to plead on my behalf, but nothing changed.
I also wished they would review the CCTV footage because our examination halls are monitored with CCTV cameras.
During the stress of trying to sort out the issues, I was staying off campus and living alone at the time. Unfortunately, a thief broke into my apartment and stole my phone and laptop.
Losing my laptop in the middle of everything made the situation even more difficult, especially with my project still unfinished. I had to borrow a friend’s laptop to complete my project and use it for the rest of the semester. My friends and family also came together to contribute money so I could get a new phone.
It was a difficult period, but I had to keep going. Despite everything happening around me, I found a way to finish my project and get through the semester.
Eventually, the verdict came. Instead of suspension, I was assigned 80 hours and 40 hours of community service, both to be completed simultaneously. I was also given a PDF containing the Ten Commandments to study. I did everything that was required of me and made sure I completed every task before the semester ended.
And finally, I graduated on the 26th of July 2026. GOD TIME IS THE BEST

Today, I am the CEO of Globiqo Ltd.
My journey through university taught me something I will never forget delays do not mean denial, and taking a different route does not mean you have failed.
For eight years, I experienced delays, setbacks, changes of direction, financial challenges, disappointment, and moments when I genuinely questioned whether I would ever finish what I started.
But somehow, every time life pushed me backwards, I found a way to keep moving.
Today, I realise that the same resilience that helped me complete my education also played a key role in helping me build Globiqo.
How the Idea for Globiqo Was Born
The idea for Globiqo came from my own experience as an international student.
When I moved to the UK in 2022, I quickly realised that adapting to life in a new country was not as easy as I had imagined. Beyond academics and the financial challenges of being an international student, one thing I struggled with was connection.
Life could feel lonely and, honestly, boring.
I wanted to meet people, discover interesting things happening around me and connect with people who shared similar backgrounds and interests. But finding the right events and communities was not always easy.
That experience stayed with me.
Then, in December 2025 in Lagos Nigeria, I found myself facing a similar problem from a different perspective.
I wanted to attend events, but finding them meant jumping between different Instagram accounts, searching through social media pages and browsing the internet just to discover what was happening and where.
I thought to myself: Why isn’t there one place where I can simply open an app and see the events happening around me?”
That question became the foundation for Globiqo.
I began imagining a platform where people wouldn’t have to search through countless Instagram pages or websites to find something interesting to do. Instead, they could open one app, discover events, explore what is happening around them and decide what they wanted to attend.
But I wanted Globiqo to be more than an event-discovery platform.
I also thought about the experience of Africans living abroad.
Moving to another country can be exciting, but it can also be isolating. Sometimes, you simply want to find people who understand your culture, your language, your food, your music and your experiences.
So I wanted to create a space where Africans abroad could not only discover events but also create their own events and connect with other Africans in their communities.
Whether it is an Afrobeats party, an African food festival, a networking event, a cultural celebration, a football viewing, a community gathering or simply an opportunity for people to meet and make new friends, Globiqo is designed to make those connections easier.
The vision is simple:
Discover. Connect. Create.
More Than an App
Globiqo is more than just an app to me. It represents another chapter of the same journey, the decision to create something despite uncertainty and to keep building even when the road is not straightforward.
Building a technology company is not easy, especially while navigating school, financial responsibilities, and the many unexpected challenges that life brings.
There were moments when I could have abandoned the idea, just as there were moments during my education when giving up would have seemed like the easiest option.
But I had already learned how to keep going.
The same person who waited years for university admission, changed universities, studied in another country, returned to Nigeria, dealt with financial pressure and eventually faced the possibility of not graduating is now standing here as a university graduate and the CEO of Globiqo Ltd.
That is why the launch of Globiqo means so much to me.
I experienced the problem myself. I felt the difficulty of trying to connect in a new country. I experienced the frustration of searching across different platforms just to find events.
Instead of simply complaining about it, I decided to build a solution.
And that solution is Globiqo.
A Vision Beyond Events
Our goal is not simply to launch another application into an already crowded digital space.
We want to build a platform that genuinely helps people discover experiences, create events and build meaningful connections.
Globiqo gives people the opportunity to discover what is happening around them while also giving communities, particularly Africans living abroad, a platform to create their own experiences and bring people together.
The vision is bigger than one city or one country.
Globiqo is starting from an idea inspired by my experience abroad, but the ambition is global.
We want to make it easier for people to find their communities wherever they are in the world.
A New Beginning
Graduating from university on Sunday, 26 July 2026, and launching Globiqo feels like the closing of one chapter and the opening of another.
For years, I was focused on completing my education.
Today, I am focused on building.
I don’t know exactly where this journey will take me, but if my university experience taught me anything, it is that the road may not always look the way you planned it.
Sometimes you will be delayed.
Sometimes you will have to start again.
Sometimes you will have to take a completely different route.
Sometimes you will wonder if you are the problem.
But sometimes, what looks like a delay is simply preparation for something bigger.
Globiqo is my next chapter.
After spending eight years completing a four-year journey, I am finally beginning a new journey, building something that I hope can help millions of people discover experiences, connect with others and create communities.
I am excited about what we are building, the people we will impact, the problems we will solve and the opportunities that lie ahead.
And just as I did with my education, I intend to see this through.
From spending eight years completing a four-year course to finally building a company of my own , this is only the beginning.
